EA issue FIFA 22 statement clarifying machine limit issue for PC pre-orders

EA has issued a statement ahead of the FIFA 22 release, clarifying the one machine limit issue for PC players who pre-order via Steam.

Pre-orders for FIFA 22 went live on Sunday, July 11, 2021 following the release of the FIFA 22 reveal trailer, but players who attempted to pre-order the PC version of the game on Steam noticed that in the terms and conditions of the purchase, it stated that FIFA 22 had a one machine activation limit.

Essentially this means that should you purchase either the Standard Edition or Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22 for PC on Steam, the game can only be installed on one machine maximum, so you wouldn’t be able to install the game on a gaming PC and a laptop, despite the fact you purchased the game outright.

However, after numerous Twitter users noticed the strange condition on the Steam platform in regards to the FIFA 22 pre-order, EA have now issued a statement in an attempt to clarify the situation.

EA supplied an exclusive statement to Dexerto, with the gaming outlet then publishing the statement in full on their @UltimateTeamUK Twitter account.

“We can confirm there is not a one machine limit for PC via Steam,” EA told Dexerto.

“This was listed incorrectly, and the limitation has now been removed.

“We apologise for the confusion and thank our community for noticing the error.”

So there you have it, PC players can pre-order FIFA 22 via Steam and won’t have to worry about the one machine install limit, no matter what it says in the terms and conditions currently.

FIFA 22 will be released worldwide on Friday, October 1, 2021, with the game available on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Stadia and PC.

The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Standard Edition of FIFA 22 is £69.99, whilst the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Ultimate Edition of FIFA 22 is £89.99.
