Farrell snubbed, Rassie’s prop shock, Mack out – Autumn Nations Series full squads, fixtures and latest team news

The clash between Australia and Japan on Saturday afternoon launches a hectic five weeks of action as the giants of the north and south battle it out in the Autumn Nations Series.

The Wallabies were one of the first to name their squad for their five-Test tour, and all the squads of the major teams will be added here as they’re named.

    Latest squad news

England coach Steve Borthwick opted against adding Owen Farrell to his initial squad of 36 players. Farrell was called up to the British and Irish Lions tour by father Andy, and is eligible again for England after returning from France.

Saracens winger Noah Caluori, 19, has been tipped for England debut this autumn. Borthwick has praised Caluori’s potential following a sensational Premiership debut where he scored five tries against Sale Sharks.

Mack Hansen has been ruled out of Ireland’s squad for the autumn internationals. British and Irish Lion Hansen was forced off in the closing stages of his side’s 28-27 defeat by the Bulls in the United Rugby Championship on Friday.

Ireland confirmed he had suffered an aggravation of a foot injury and is ruled out of their upcoming games against New Zealand, Japan, Australia and world champions South Africa. Andy Farrell is already without injured Lions duo Joe McCarthy and Hugo Keenan.

South Africa coach Rassie Erasmus named his 36-man squad with former Junior Springbok captain and prop Zachary Porthen receiving his maiden senior call-up.

Double World Cup winner Bongi Mbonambi was left as one of 10 players on standby.

“We are excited about the makeup of this squad,” said Erasmus. “Most of the players in the group have been with us throughout the season, while others are back from injury or have done the job for us before in the last few years.

“It’s also great to see a young player like Zachary, who has emerged through our junior structures, come through the ranks into the senior set-up, and we are excited to see what he can do at this level.”
